Kirenga Sam Shaban: Class - Percussion | Age - 17 years old

I joined Rwanda Rocks June, 2016. I am 17 years old. Since then I have learned many things like the background knowledge of African drums and how to play them. I have also gained experience because of the various places I have performed at. I have never had such experiences in my life. After I lost my father, I lived a life of agony. I was getting more and more depressed each day. But after I joined Rwanda Rocks, I saw that everything was possible and that I just might have a bright future ahead of me.

My name is Kanyana Afsa and my child is Sam. He has been at Rwanda Rocks since the very beginning. There have been many changes since then and I see he really likes leading others in music related activities. When I go to Rwanda Rocks, I am surprised by the way he plays the drums. I can see he is really good and has a bright future ahead of him. Sam was also an aggressive child but music has taught him how to get along with his friends. I am really indebted to Rwanda Rocks. Sam will be a child with great vision and leadership. I see him as a future leader and also as a musician.
